The Spring Hill College softball team fell to West Florida in a non-conference mid-week doubleheader at Murray Field on Sunday.
The Badgers struggled in game one and were ultimately shutout by the Argonauts 9-0 in five innings. In the second game, Spring Hill took a 2-0 lead after Paityn Desormeaux crossed the plate on an error in the second inning and Airyonna Weaver belted a home run over the center field wall in the third. West Florida answered with three runs in the fourth inning to take the lead and hung on to defeat SHC 3-2. Spring Hill fell into a three-game slump while West Florida extended its win streak to five games.

The Badgers will begin a five-game road slate with a three-game SIAC series against LeMoyne-Owen on Saturday.
